Founded by educator and mathematics consultant Nikki Lineham, Educating Now was created from a deep passion for helping all students experience success, confidence, and joy in mathematics — especially those who once believed they were “not good at math.”
Through years of classroom teaching, coaching, and professional learning, Nikki saw firsthand the transformation that occurs when students are engaged in rich, conceptual mathematical thinking. Nikki holds a postgraduate certificate in ethnomathematics from the University of Hawaiʻi and completed five years of doctoral studies at the University of Victoria focused on culturally responsive mathematics pedagogy. She is also a sought-after presenter at conferences and professional learning events across North America.
As Nikki began supporting teachers in their classrooms, she often heard the same response: “I need you in my class every day.” Educating Now was designed to be the next best thing — providing educators with accessible, engaging video-based professional learning that supports meaningful and lasting changes in mathematics instruction. Educating Now takes an innovative approach to professional development by combining research-informed best practices with flexible, technology-enhanced learning.
